To serve as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion (EMHC) is one of the most sacred responsibilities entrusted to the laity.
At St. Francis Borgia Parish, this ministry is not about honor or prestige, but about humble service bringing the very Body and Blood of Christ to the faithful at Mass and to the sick and homebound.
SPIRITUAL ATTITUDE OF THE EMHC
- Humility – bearing Christ whom none of us is worthy to touch.
- Gratitude – serving in a ministry that flows from God’s mercy.
- Love – recognizing that each communicant receives Christ Himself.
- Obedience – serving according to the guidance of the Church.
