School Mass for the victims of Minneapolis shooting

Dear St. Francis Borgia Community,

Please join me in praying for the victims, families, and first responders affected by the tragic shooting at Annunciation Catholic Church and School in Minneapolis. During times like this we need to lean into our faith, hold each other up, and be compassionate to each other, recognizing the dignity of every person we encounter. Know that my prayers are also with our teachers, staff, and students for a safe and blessed school year.

In moments like these, we are reminded of the power of faith, unity, and prayer. We invite all students, parents, and parishioners to join us for a School Mass on Thursday, August 28, at 8:30 a.m. in the church. Together, we will lift up the victims, their families, the entire Minneapolis Annunciation Catholic School community, and the first responders who courageously serve and protect in times of crisis. May God grant them strength, comfort, and peace.

Let us come together as one body of Christ, holding close those who mourn and committing ourselves to being instruments of God’s love and healing in the world.

With prayers and blessings,
Fr. Marek Smolka

Pastor of St. Francis Borgia
